All right, magical ones, it is TIME! The Indiegogo IS HERE!!! Please click on the image below to get there!

The event page is RIGHT HERE if you want more up to date information. This time, I’m aiming to get enough to print the book with black and white images but will have a stretch goal of making it fully colored 🙂

Also, feast your eyes on these magical updates:

  1. The CONVENTION SCHEDULE has been updated with more shows I’ll be appearing at. I will most definitely have some magical girl merchandise and will most likely be doing panels about cosplay bullying, diversity, representation, and loving yourself.
  2. The OTHER MAGICAL WORKS section has been updated with more jobs from WatchMojo.com and MsMojo that I wrote the scripts for. There’s also new articles in the Twin Cities Geek section, including an introspective look at “Hidden Figures.”

This year, my partner and I went to the most conventions we’ve ever done! Now that the convention season is over for us, we’ll be preparing for next year. We’re looking into crowdfunding the girls again, but at the beginning of next year instead of the end, and we’re still planning on releasing the book early next year as well. I’ll update everyone when I know for sure what we’re doing 🙂

Until then, there are a LOT of updates, so here we go!

1. The OUR STORY tab has been updated with new INTERVIEWS & FEATURES for the series.

2. There are new CHAPTER SNIPPETS for you to read and enjoy, and some even have art to go along with them!

3. NEW SECTION UNLOCKED! There is now a section for COMICS called minifiqueNOIR! These are short, one-shot, stories of the various misadventures of the girls. Each comic is illustrated by me!

4. NEW SECTION UNLOCKED! There is now a section for WALLPAPERS so you can make your computer desktop background a bit more magical.

5. In the MAGICAL SUPPORTERS tab, more FANART has been added!

6. In the OTHER MAGICAL WORKS tab for Freelance Work, the WatchMojo tab for 2016 has been updated with more videos I wrote the script for. Also, the MsMojo section has been updated, too! Happy viewing!

Take care, magical ones <3 <3 <3

Hey everyone! Sadly, it looks like we didn’t get funded. I have to say, this has been one hell of a ride. Between the Kickstarter and the conventions during the campaign it’s been quite the adventure.

I want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to all of you who have supported this series! I also want to say that just because the Kickstarter didn’t work out doesn’t mean that this is the end. The book WILL STILL BE RELEASED and there will be merchandise to go along with it — some of which you can get BEFORE the book is released. The point of the Kickstarter was to try and get funding to do the ABSOLUTE MOST with this project. It may not have all of the bells and whistles at launch next year, but the bells and whistles it does have will be shiny and neat 🙂

I plan on looking into alternatives and things of that nature, and will do my best to let all of you know when that happens. I’m going to take some time to rest up, but after that, it’ll be back to business!

I also want to let you know that there are several ways to keep up with the girls. We have:

The mailing list: http://eepurl.com/cgyZGf

The Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/magnifiqueNOIR/

And, of course, here on the website! Be on the look out for updates for new merchandise, features, and more!

Thanks everyone, and remember: You are Magical <3

And we’re LIVE! Time for everyone to join and share the magnifiqueNOIR Kickstarter! The revolution will be MAGICAL! There are all sorts of fun tiers, add-ons, exclusives, stretch goals… the works! Pledge, spread the word, share the magic with EVERYONE!

Let’s make “magnifiqueNOIR” EXPLODE with black, queer, female amazement. Let’s show the world how magical we are 🙂

Extra note: When sharing, use the hashtag #magnifiqueNOIR

Hello dear magical ones! Now that conventions have slowed down, it’s time for some updates! But first, a message from Galactic Purple:

Update Delay

Now that that’s out of the way, let’s see what we’ve got for you!

1. The MERCHANDISE section has been updated with PRINTS! FINALLY! You can get your very own magnifiqueNOIR 11×17 poster!!! There’s also one more print in the section of our very own Brichibi Cosplays dressed as Wonder Woman!!! The BOOKS section has also been updated with a fun, coloring page set of the original series, FRIENDIPALS, which you may have seen in a certain preview book about a certain group of magical girls. There’s also a WOODWORK section that shows examples of the girls done via woodburning and painting. Don’t forget, you can still get copies of the preview book and the first set of buttons!

2. The CONVENTION SCHEDULE has been updated once again! We have three shows scheduled for October, which will end the convention season for us. However, we’re already planning for 2017. The biggest announcement is that we’ve been invited as guests to Haven Con out in Austin, Texas!!! Not only can you get your tickets HERE, but you can ALSO get a discount by using the word “Cosplay” when purchasing tickets.

3. Can we talk about those MAGICAL SUPPORTERS?! We try and get as many pictures as we can but sometimes, we forget. But the section has been updated with more magical ones 🙂

4. OTHER MAGICAL WORKS has been updated! Check out the WatchMojo.com section for 2016 and you’ll find new videos that I’ve written scripts for. They are:

  • Top 10 Video Game Siblings
  • Top 5 Pokemon Go Facts
  • Anime Duel: Spike Spiegel VS Vash the Stampede
  • Sonic 06 VS Sonic Boom

We also have updates in the Twin Cities Geek section with Briana’s powerful peace, “That’s Not Gonna Happen to Me,” in regards to dealing with racism. Last, but not least, in the Other Published Works section, you’ll find Briana’s newest peace for Blackasotan called, “Continue Screen,” where she uses video game metaphors to address social issues.

Hello, magical ones. We have quite a few updates, so get magically hyped!

Update 1

1. The CONVENTION SCHEDULE has been updated with three more conventions that I’m confirmed for this year AND one for next year! They are: afreakCON (2016), Anime Fusion (2016), and Shuto Con (2017). More details are in the convention schedule.

2. The FANART section has a new piece of art from the amazing Musetap Studios that features Bree and the ladies of 8-bit!

3. If you head over to OTHER MAGICAL WORKS, you’ll see that the WatchMojo.com section for 2016 has been updated with 2 new videos I wrote the scripts for! We have Top 10 Video Game Revenge Stories and Top 10 Video Game Sisters.

I’d also like to say thank you to the attendees of CONvergence 2016. During 4th of July weekend, I had my very first book signing and book reading, and also took part in several panels with some amazing panelists. I spent all weekend talking about the importance of diversity and was thrilled with the positive reception the panels received. Thank you so much, everyone. Also, in case you missed it, I premiered my newest cosplay: a Rainbow Brite ballgown! The dress was sketched by me and made by my partner, Jessica Walsh (SnowCosplays).

Welcome Page

Welcome, dear magical ones, to the world of magnifiqueNOIR! This website shares the tale of a group of black, queer, magical girls who use their abilities to defend others. Each girl has her own unique story, and each girl follows one important mantra: Don’t forget, you are magical.

The series is being created by Briana Lawrence, also known as “Brichibi Cosplays.” Briana is a freelancer writer, published author, crafter, and cosplayer. She travels to conventions to promote her creative works, and often does panels that revolve around diversity, LGBTQ issues, body positivity, and anti-bullying. The goal of “magnifiqueNOIR” is to present a story of learning to love yourself for who you are, and to spread that message to everyone around you.

As the site is developed, there will be updates on convention appearances, new merchandise, any interviews and/or features, and the upcoming Kickstarter for the book series. Thank you so much for your support, and never stop being magical.
