It amazes me how much support we’ve gotten for this series. It means the world to me that all of you are excited about the girls. From meeting people at conventions, to talking to people online, the warm reception of magnifiqueNOIR always puts a smile on my face. Bree’s reaction is my reaction every time someone tells me that they’re excited to see where this story goes.
So, from me, and the girls of magnifiqueNOIR: Thank you.
Below are a collection of pictures I’ve managed to get of people showing their love for the series. I hope all of you realize how important these moments were to me. Again, thank you so much!
Anime Central 2016
Anime Central has a special place in my heart. It was the very first anime convention I went to way back in 2002. This was before I cosplayed, before I started bringing my work to conventions, before… everything! And in 2016, it was the first convention I had the preview books for magnifiqueNOIR! I’m happy to report that the books were a huge success, and I came home with a nearly empty box! Anime Central, you continue to knock my socks off!
A-Kon 27
Shortly after Anime Central came A-Kon. This was my first time attending this convention, and I was both excited and nervous — as usual when it comes to me going to new shows. This was the first convention where I had more merchandise for the girls. Not only did I have preview books and prints, but I had buttons as well. A-Kon’s attendees proved to be very supportive, and made my first venture to Dallas very much worth it.
Anime Iowa 2016
The end of July saw even more support for the ladies <3 I’ve been to this convention several times before, but this was the first time with magnifiqueNOIR. As always, the Iowa crowd was very welcoming and the ladies received a warm reception from attendees and guests alike, so THANK YOU SO MUCH!
afreakCON 2016
This was the first year for this convention, and I really hope that it’s a show that continues throughout the years. The focus was on creators of color, and it was the perfect place to bring the ladies. The importance of representation really showed as everyone was amazed to see women of color taking center stage. Thank you so much for such a warm welcome, and I hope this happens again next year!
Matsuricon 2016
Shortly after was this convention out in Columbus, Ohio. It was my first time attending, and I even got to give panels about Diversity and the importance of loving yourself. It was the perfect kind of panel to give when talking about magnifiqueNOIR and I feel like the ladies fit right in.
Geek.Kon 2016
I’ve been to this convention several times, but this was the first time being invited as a guest! All of my panels went over really well, and so did the ladies of magnifiqueNOIR. Some people even read the preview book while at the con and came back to tell me to hurry up with the full book! I promise, I’m trying my best! The ladies will be here in their full glory soon enough!
